Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center Host the International Biology Olympiad

Denpasar, 1 July 2014 - Bali, is one of the famous tourism island in the world. It has more than 700 hotels with different categories and great competitors. With its intense competition, it will affect the hotel occupancy. High and low occupancy is depend on the season, the high one normally in the second quarter and end of the year, and the low one generally in Ramadan (Fasting month for Muslim). 

There are several ways to cope the low occupancy and to attract people keep coming especially in Ramadan, one of them by providing flexible rates, such as 10% discount off, weekend promotion, and etc. But the fact says that it is not happen in Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center during the fasting month, due to the hotel will host the international event or called as The International Biology Olympiad on 6-13 July 2014.

“We are delighted to be selected as the accommodation and the venue for the International Biology Olympiad, which is 61 countries will participate in the event, and the occupancy of the hotel will be 80%. This is beyond our expectation especially in the occupancy target.  And we are also optimistic about achieving this year's targets with groups or events in the following months.” Said Sony Bambang Suryo – General Manager at Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center.

The International Biology Olympiad (IBO) is an association that organizes a yearly competition for secondary school students, who are winners of their respective National Biology Olympiad. Their skills in tackling biological problems, and dealing with biological experiments are tested. Interest in biology, inventiveness, creativity and perseverance are necessary. In bringing together gifted students, the IBO competition tries to challenge and stimulate these students to expand their talents and to promote their career as scientists. A very important point is gathering young people from over the world in an open, friendly and peaceful mind.
