Piodalan, a Balinese way to show gratitude to God at Aston Canggu Beach Resort

Canggu, 20 December 2019 - There are so many ways to show our gratitude to God. As an island that upholds the noble value of culture, there are a special ceremony in Bali called Piodalan.

On 24 October 2018, Aston Canggu Beach Resort held Piodalan ceremony, commonly known as a anniversary celebration of the temple according to the Balinese calendar. This ceremony is held to show our grateful for the blessing we have received an continuation of all good things around Aston Canggu Beach Resort.

On 16 October to 19 October, Aston Canggu’s team bringing holy water (Mendhak Tirta) from several big temples in Bali to the hotel. The holy water symbolize the blessings and God’s representation. The processiom continue on 22 October, as we create Balinese decoration and put bamboo penjor in front of the hotel.

The ceremony centralized at Aston Canggu Beach Resort’s main temple. The main temple was fully decorated with the offering for God. Various activities are held during the ceremony, including internal department gebogan competition. Gebogan is a Balinese offering with the reflection of a mountain shape triangle. This offering consist of many kinds of fruits, flowers, cake and other ornaments that are arranged in a triangle shape.

On this Piodalan Ceremony, Aston Canggu Beach Resort invited all the guest in-house to join and witnessing the sacred ceremony. It will surely bring a memorable experience for our guest and increase their passion for Balinese culture.
