Simpang lima is one of the places that gives characteristic to the city of Semarang. this is also a square in the middle of the main intersection in Semarang. Lawang Sewu


Located in Tugu Muda complex, long ago was big building with art deco style by Hollander as trains station (trem), or known as Nederland’s Indische Spoorweg Maschaappij (NIS). It’s created by Holland architect Prof.Jacob F.Klinkhamer and B.J.Queendag on history records was build on 1903, then legitimate on July 1st of 1907. Semarang citizen known this building has a thousand doors or more, that’s in Javanese, means Lawang Sewu. Lawang means door and sewu means thousand. On present this building are ins on 102 old fashioned building or historical in Semarang that used as a tour object with historical relic facilities the old fashioned and antique architecture building in Semarang.
 

Blenduk Church

This church was Located onLetjend Soeprapto 32nd street. The building was a 1st church that has an Patheon architecture style that built on 1753 and re-built on 1984 by Holland architect name HPA de Wilde and Westmaas. It’s called Blenduk because the vault looks lika a half piece of ball. So people said “Mblenduk”. The structural was hexagonal shape with the unique interior. As one of the old structured in old ton area, The church still become one of the best place to visit and still used as a for pray.

Kota Lama

Sam Poo Kong


Sam Poo Kong was built by Chinese man name Sam Poo Tay Dijen on his visit to Semarang. This Pagoda gave inspiration to several legends in Semarang. Every years on 29th Lak Gwee the Chinese calendar, was held a ritual ceremony to celebrate Sam Poo Tay Dijen Birth day. The ceremony was begins wirh parade from Tay Kak Sie Gang Lombok Pagoda to Sam Poo Kong Pagoda. The location is on Simongan 129th street, not less than 2 Km to West side from Tugu Muda. Daily open for public 24 hours.

Buddhagaya Vihara Watugong

Buddhagaya Watugong monastery is located 45 minutes from the central city of Semarang. This monastery has many buildings and are in a large area.

One of the most famous icons in this monastery is Avalokitesvara Pagoda which has a height of 45 meters, with seven levels and the dominance of red and some statues at each level pagodanya. Buddhagaya Avalokitesvara Pagoda is the tallest pagoda in Indonesia.
 

Goa Kreo


Goa Kreo is located in Hamlet Talun Kacang, Kandri Village, Gunung Pati Subdistrict, Semarang, Central Java. This tourist attraction is also surrounded Jatibarang Dam. Goa Kreo trusted as petilasan Sunan Kalijaga when looking for teak wood to build the Great Mosque of Demak. According to legend Sunan Kalijaga met with a flock of apes who were then told to keep the teak wood. Goa Kreo tourism object every day starting at 6:00 to 18:00.
