Jakarta, September 2022 – In the digital era, technology is developing rapidly, and almost everyone depends on devices to carry out their activities. Parents have become accustomed to giving devices to their children as learning tools, with some parents using them as a quietening solution, so the parents are not disturbed.

Although devices have many benefits for adults and children, using them for extended periods negatively affects children's growth and development. As their addiction grows, it can psychologically cause children to be irritable, easily maddened, and cause crying and tantrums. Before the habit becomes difficult to stop, parents need to find other activities that can distract them from playing on devices. One of which is by teaching them to cook. It is a fun and creative activity that has many good benefits for their growth and development and is a lifelong skill.

It’s not a problem if you find it challenging to develop an interest in cooking with your children at home. Many children's playgrounds, restaurants, and hotels provide kid-friendly cooking class programs, one of which is the ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center.

In collaboration with one of the directors of children's activities, "Kelas Si Kecil," this 4-star hotel held a cooking class to make every kid's favorite dish, "Sushi," on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 09.30 to 12:00 WIB. The children were guided directly by a professional Chef from ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center, who has been in the culinary industry for twenty years.

The children's cooking class started with an introduction to the ingredients for making sushi, followed by measuring the ingredients and how to put the ingredients together with the correct rolling process. Not just a fun activity, the children also learned to focus, were introduced to new vocabulary, it increased their self-confidence, built creativity, and learned to count basic mathematics. After finishing the cooking class, the children were also given a certificate of completion and could take home the finished sushi.

“Our commitment is to make ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center a kid-friendly hotel; therefore, we often do activities like this to provide more value for our guests. Not only for holidays, staying at hotels gives an educational experience for families,” commented Andi Gevika Rizki, General Manager of ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center.
