Surakarta, September 2022 - ASTON Solo Hotel presents “Mexican Food Treats,” introducing a unique culinary experience of Mexican specialties, including delicious Mexican Chicken Pozole and Chicken Tacos.
ASTON Solo Hotel's head chef, Agus Supriyanto, stated, "Mexican cuisine in Indonesia, especially in Solo, may not be as popular as Japanese or Korean cuisine. However, Mexican food tastes similar to Indonesian; it tends to be spicy as it is cooked with a lot of spices."
"So we want our guests to be able to taste the delicacy of Mexican dishes by serving Mexican Chicken Pozole and Chicken Tacos," Agus explained.
Pozole is a thick red soup with a mildly spicy chili flavor. Pork is commonly used for pozole stuffing in Mexico. However, at the ASTON Solo Hotel, it is replaced with halal ingredients, like slices of chicken thighs which have a more tender and juicy texture.
This Mexican chicken pozole is stuffed with potato wedges and cooked with carrots, avocado, and red beans. This tasty and flavorsome dish is priced at IDR 41,973, including tax and service.
Another dish available is the famous chicken tacos. Made from crispy tortillas stuffed with grilled chicken breast, shallots and onions, then drizzled with a tomato salsa that has a fresh spicy taste from the chopped chilies and lime juice. It also comes with French fries and guacamole sauce, a dip made from avocado, tomato slices, shallots, coriander leaves, and lime. The chicken tacos are priced at IDR 37,853, including tax and service.
As for accompanying the two Mexican dishes above, ASTON Solo Hotel also presents two special drinks, chia Fresca and sweet Mexico. Chia Fresca is made from sparkling water with fresh lemon slices and topped with mint leaves and basil seeds. The price is quite affordable at only Rp. 22,145. Meanwhile, sweet Mexico is made from sparkling water with fresh watermelon pieces and topped with lychee syrup, mint leaves, and basil seeds and priced at only Rp. 26,265.
