Jakarta, January 2023 – Celebrating Chinese New Year 2023, the year of the rabbit, ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center is holding a series of activities entitled "Year of the Rabbit," which will take place from January 22, 2023, for fifteen days until the Cap Go Meh celebration on February 5, 2023.
- Wishing Tree
In Chinese culture, the Rabbit symbolizes longevity, prosperity, and peace. Thus, this year is predicted to be the year of hope. Apart from providing angpao trees, ASTON Priority Simatupang is also providing wishing trees located in two places, namely LA Lounge and Canary Coffee Shop.
Guests can write their wishes and hang them on the wishing tree. The hotel’s management will choose one of the most touching wishes, and they will get a chance to win a free stay at ASTON Priority Simatupang.
- Chinese Culinary
Celebrating Chinese New Year is not complete without tasting Chinese culinary dishes. For fifteen days, from 22 January to 5 February 2023, ASTON Priority Simatupang provides breakfast and lunch with a buffet concept entitled Chinese Culinary. Various iconic Chinese dishes can be found in the breakfast and lunch buffet areas, such as; Szechuan soup, Chicken Hainan, mapo tofu, rainbow lamian, chicken wontons, mantau, Chinese traditional desserts, red bean ice, and many more.
- Lucky Drink
In addition to typical Chinese New Year attributes such as lanterns, shades of red and gold, noodles, and traditional Chinese desserts, orange fruit must always be present during Chinese New Year celebrations because, according to Chinese tradition, oranges are symbolized as lucky fruits. ASTON Priority Simatupang also provides recommendations for orange drinks, namely "Ginger Mandarin" which is available for two months, from January to February 2023. ASTON Priority Simatupang's Ginger Mandarin is made from carrots, ginger, and dominantly combined with orange, to give a welcoming warm feeling when you drink it during this rainy season.
Oranges in the Chinese Language are called Júzi, close to the pronunciation of Ji, which means good luck, so oranges are synonymous with good luck symbols. Moreover, the color is close to gold, representing hope, luck, and prosperity. Its sweet, sour, slightly bitter, and warm tastes convey the philosophy that human life also feels sweet, sour, bitter, and warm.
