Batam, September 7, 2023 - ASTON Batam Hotel and Residence is thrilled to announce its remarkable achievement in the prestigious Archipelago Young Chef and Barista Challenge. The competition, featuring barista excellence, witnessed the outstanding performance of Akbar Hutama Putra, who secured the 3rd place for Aston Batam Hotel and Residence.

The Archipelago Young Chef and Barista Challenge, with participation from 200 hotels under the Archipelago group, is a highly regarded competition in the hospitality industry. Out of numerous talented participants, only five finalists in each category earned the opportunity to compete in the final round.

The final event took place on September 5, 2023, at Aston Pasteur, where the judging panel included Mr. John M. Flood as a President & CEO of Archipelago, Mr. Winston Hanes as a Vice President of Operation, Mr. Denny Sandsunu Wasana as a Corporate Food & Beverage Manager, and Mrs Sari Kusumaningrum as a Director of Corporate Communication & PR. 

ASTON Batam Hotel and Residence showcased its commitment to excellence in barista skills as Akbar Hutama Putra demonstrated his expertise, earning the hotel a well-deserved 3rd place.
