"We eat first with our eyes" is the most appropriate proverb in the culinary world. For this reason, various restaurants, cafes, food stalls, and hotels compete to beautify their dishes with a different appearance or aesthetic presentation so that anyone who sees has a desire to taste it.

One such event was carried out by ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center. After the success of the previous "The Art of Dish" event in November 2023, this four-star hotel held a similar event entitled "The Art of Dish Season 2: Food Explore" on Monday, January 29 2024 at the Canary restaurant.

Different from previous events which featured various kinds of buffet menus, this time ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center displayed several ala carte menus with choices available at Food & Beverage outlets. The theme "Food Explore" is a form of exploration of selected ala carte menus such as; tortilla Minang, tiramisu with ice cream, fudgy cookies, surabi Bandung, Bola tape, Dealova pizza, beef burger, grilled sirloin steak, fried cassava, and Soto Betawi.

Besides that, guests were also invited to learn how to make "The Art of Plating'' guided by Chef Irham and Chef Ali ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel & Conference Center by making Tortila Minang and Surabi Bandung. "The Art of Plating'' is a method for arranging, decorating, and serving food on a plate with appropriate composition, food setting, and color selection so that it has artistic value and visual appeal. With the technique "The Art of Plating '' food can be transformed into an art with high value.

"This time, our The Art of Dish event carried the theme "food exploration" as a form of exploration of selected a la carte menus. With a touch of art in every food served, we aim to deliver a good impression, showcase the quality of the food, as well as providing a culinary experience for guests, especially the millennial and z generations who like to upload photos of food to the social media before eating, therefore we hope that our food can also appear on Instagram timelines, Instagram stories, and on TikTok for social media enthusiast" said Chef Saman, Executive Chef of ASTON Priority Simatupang Hotel.
